- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup lime juice
- 6 sprigs fresh mint leaves
- 3 ounces light rum
- 3 cups ice cubes
- In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves.
- Remove from heat and cool completely.
- In a blender, combine the cooled syrup, lime juice, mint leaves and rum. Blend until smooth.
- Add the ice cubes and blend until slushy.
- Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
