- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- In a medium bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, garlic powder and pepper.
- Stir in milk and oil until combined.
- Heat a lightly greased skillet over medium heat.
- Drop batter by tablespoonfuls and cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Serve hot.
