- 1. Park the car on a level surface and turn off the engine.
- 2. Raise the car with a car jack and place it securely on jack stands.
- 3. Place an oil pan beneath the oil drain plug.
- 4. Unscrew and remove the oil drain plug.
- 5. Allow the old oil to drain out into the pan.
- 6. Replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
- 7. Remove the old oil filter and replace it with a new one.
- 8. Pour in new motor oil until it reaches the full line on your dipstick.
- 9. Replace your dipstick, start up your engine, and check for leaks.
- 10. Lower your car from its jack stands and dispose of used oil properly.
