- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 2 eggs, separated
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the egg yolks and milk.
- Stir the milk mixture into the flour mixture until blended.
- Stir in the melted butter.
- Gently fold in the egg whites.
- Heat a lightly oiled waffle iron. Pour enough batter onto the hot waffle iron to cover it. Cook until golden brown. Serve hot.
